AteloGene is a transfection reagent consisting of atelocollagen, a highly biocompatible material with nearly 40 years of clinical use as a medical device. It enables nucleic acid delivery without liposomes or viral vectors, thus reducing the burden of internal procedures while facilitating in vivo experiments with suppressed toxicity and immunogenicity. AteloGene gels at the injection site provide sustained nucleic acid release for approximately one week. This sustained release reduces the administration frequency by ~70% .
